THANK YOU!

Thursday, September 30, 2021, 12 - 1 PM

A virtual fundraising event supporting the Citizen Diplomat Academy Virtual international exchange program
for Philadelphia high school students and peers overseas.

Thank you for joining us for a special conversation with honorees Heather Templeton Dill and Jennifer Templeton Simpson, two women in philanthropy promoting cross-cultural exchange, enhanced understanding through dialogue, and appreciation for cultural differences.

The Citizen Diplomat of the Year Award is about recognizing the power of individuals to advance global peace and prosperity. COVID-19 has canceled nearly all in-person educational travel abroad for two years. The Citizen Diplomat Academy connects teens virtually and opens the door to a world of big ideas.

If you were unable to attend the Citizen Diplomat of the Year Award, you can watch a recording of the entire event here.

Heather Templeton Dill and Jennifer Templeton Simpson are innovative Philadelphia leaders working to advance humankind's greater understanding of the world through projects at home and abroad. Overseeing the John Templeton Foundation, Dill and Simpson fund scientific research into the deepest and most perplexing questions facing humanity; and initiate civil, informed dialogue.

We are inspired by the John Templeton Foundation’s dedication to investing in big ideas that can improve humanity, sharing our core belief that inspiring people to be curious and to ask questions will change our world for the better.

YOUR DONATION HOLDS THE KEYS TO GLOBAL CHANGE

These life-changing international exchanges remain free to students because of generous donors, like you!   High school students are open-minded and ready to learn about themselves and the world, but COVID has canceled in-person travel worldwide. With your help, an introduction to one international friend, made at this point in their development, can influence the trajectory of their lives in a positive, lasting way.

In the Citizen Diplomat Academy, students learn to be a Citizen Diplomat and apply the core skills of diplomacy, cross-cultural dialogue, STEM entrepreneurship, and social innovation from a rotating group of instructors from the top universities, start-up businesses, social innovation labs, and cultural institutions in Philadelphia and around the world.
